Day 1: Mcleodganj to Triund (2875m) 9km.
Triund is a very well defined and easy trek which passes through Dharamkot village and Galu Devi and then to Triund. This is the one of the best trekking routes which gains a height of about 1000mts. in a distance of 9km.
This is one of the charming places from where the views towards Kangra valley and Dharamshala are delectable. One can enjoy the night view of the glittering lights of Dharamshala town, which makes the whole scene unique and memorable.
Day 2: Triund to Lahesh cave /Illaqua gote (3500Mts.) 5 km.
This is a beaten trek frequented by shepherds, trekkers and local people; it has a moderate climb. Vegetation comes to an end after Illaqua Gote at elevation of 3300mts. On the left of the snout, about 1.5km from Illaqua Gote towards Indrahara Pass is the Lahesh cave at 3500m, a natural rock cave shelter.
Day 3: Lahesh cave (3500m)/ Illaqua gote to Nagdal lake (4150m) over Indrahara Pass (4250m) 7 to 8 hours. Overnight stay at Nagdal Lake.
The trek to the Pass is long and passes over rock faces and at certain points involves very steep climbing. This provides a very scenic view of both Kangra and Chamba valley and offers a distant view of the Middle and Greater Himalayas.
Nagdal lake is one of the famous lakes in Dhauladhar region which is also known as Cobra lake near Indrahara Pass at the elevation of 4200m. Nagdal lake is situated to the left of Indrahara Pass. It takes about 2 hours to reach Nagdal lake from the pass. The route is not marked one has to hop up from boulders to boulders with utmost care and balance.
Day 4: Nagdal lake to Triund over Indrahara pass (4250m) 6 to 7 hours.
It takes about 2 hours on unmarked trail to reach Indrahara pass. The descend from the pass to Lahesh cave is very steep and one should take utmost care and balance to avoid ankle twist and other injuries. After Lahesh cave the route to Triund is clear, easy, and well-marked. Overnight stay at Triund in tents.
Day 5: Triund to Mcleodganj 9 km and departure from Mcleodganj.
After breakfast trek to Mcleodganj via Magic view, Galu devi temple and Dharmkot. The jeepable road has come up to Galu devi and one can hire a cab to Mcleodganj from here.
