Day 1: - Arrival at Mcleodganj
Arrival at Mcleodganj in Hotel Ekant lodge. The Hotel is located on the Jogi Bara road, Mcleodganj. Ekant lodge is just 600mts away from the Mcleodganj bus stand and it takes about 15min by walk to reach. Ekant Lodge provides decent and budget accommodation with attached toilets/ bath and hot shower and offers sumptuous meals to the tourist and trekkers.

Day 2: - Trek from Mcleodganj to Kareri village (1900m) via Dal Lake, Satobari, Ghera, and Kareri Village 13km.
Kareri village is a 13 Km trek from Mcleodganj. This 13 km trek is smooth and enjoyable. It passes through the DalLake nestled in most natural scenic grandeur and surrounding by a thick Deodars, Junipers, Rhododendrons and thin variety of Oaks. The road to the left of the lake turns to Satobari hereafter, a wide stony trail descends through a thick forest.

This trail meets a hanging wooden bridge over the Gaj River at Ghera. From here, there is a steady climb of about 3km., which later joins a mule track allowing an easy walk up to Kareri. Thick pine forest makes the whole trek very refreshing and picturesque. Dhauladhar range looks majestic from here. One can view Gag and Bhimghasutri passes from a very close distance. One can reach Kareri village cam by road from Mcleodganj via Dharamshala, Ghera and Kharibahi its 35km.

Day 3: - Kareri Village to Kareri Lake (3200mts) 13 km and overnight stay in tents.
The trek from kareri village to Kareri Lake is a stony trail and mostly climbs to the left side of the kareri Lake. Kareri Lake is at a low altitude and is an easier trek. It is frequented mostly by Gujjars and Gaddis from the nearby villages because of extensive pasturelands. Clusters of dense conifers and different kinds of perennial flowers are a rare treat offered by this place.

Day 4: - Kareri lake to Mcleodganj via Kareri village and departure from Mcleodganj.
This 13km downhill walk on an easy grade will take you to Kareri village. The route is well marked and descends along the stream. After reaching Kareri village further 35km journey to Mcleodganj will be in cab via Ghera and Dharamshala.
