Day 1: Mcleodganj to Bagga (2900m) 12km. Overnight at Bagga in tents.
This trek is smooth and enjoyable. It passes through Dal lake, Naddi, Barlehi and Rawa villages. After that the route heads up to Bagga 2900m on a shepherd trail and it takes about 4 to 5 hrs to reach here. This place is located on the ridge. Water can be had from the nearby stream. Bagga, offers panoramic view of Gag pass (4243M)
Day 2: Bagga to Lamdal lake (3900m) over Gag pass.
It takes about 6 to 7 hours at steady pace to reach Lamdal lake from Bagga. The climb is precipitous and demanding but negotiable. From the Pass it takes half an hour to descend down to Lamdal lake; the biggest lake in the hierarchy of mountain lakes in the Dhauladhar range.
After visiting Lamdal the trek heads down to Naggar lake (3400m). It takes almost 1 hour to reach Naggar lake. Overnight at Naggar lake.
Day 3: Naggar lake to Kareri lake (3200m) over Minkiani Pass. (4250m) 6 to 7hrs.
Three hours of steady and stiff climbing over snowy and steep rocks takes one to minkiani pass. The route is clear in the beginning and ascends gradually but become steep half way up to the pass. This provides a very scenic view of both Kangra and Chamba/Pangi valley and offers distant view of the Middle and Greater Himalayas. The route to the other side of the pass is clear and easy but very steep.
Day 4: Kareri lake to Kareri village (1900m) 13km.
This 13km downhill walk on an easy grade will take you to Kareri village. The route is well marked and descends along the stream. After reaching Kareri village further 35km journey to Mcleodganj will be in cab via Ghera and Dharamsala.
